Britney Spears together with Justin Timberlake is a combination some fans have been fervently praying would come into being once more. Looks like those prayers are finally being answered, thanks to none other than queen of pop – Madonna:

But oh how things have changed – now it seems that the pop princess has finally realized that Jaime has been nothing but a help towards getting her life back on track. During a recent review on October 28th Britney’s attorney told the court that the singer no longer had any objections to her Papa remaining in charge of her affairs. Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Reva Goetz, the judge presiding over the case, then ruled that: “The court finds the proposed permanent conservatorship is necessary and appropriate [because of the] complexities of her financial and business entities and also potential for her being susceptible to influences.” So what does that mean for the recovering diva? Simply put it means that:
“Britney Spears is gearing up to perform live in Bryant Park on “GMA” on Dec. 2 to promote her new album and single, “Womanizer.” Sources said, “Everybody wanted her - she was the big get - but ‘GMA’ and ABC outfoxed the ‘Today’ and NBC.” While Spears has yet to decide if she’ll do an interview, she’s coming out with an MTV special in which she talks about her trying last two years. NBC suits are said to be “fuming” at losing Spears.” I can see why NBC is furious but since I love “Good Morning America” I’ll bask in the happy glow of Britney’s upcoming performance rather than “fuming” uselessly with NBC’s big wigs. Plus, December 2nd is also her 27th birthday and I can’t think of a more auspicious day for the singer to delight her fans with a performance. Unfortunately, it seems like every piece of happy Britney news has a hint of trouble for the popular singer as well. The pop princess’ latest problem is misdemeanor charge of driving without a valid California license. Spears decided to let the charges go to trial, for several reasons not the least of which being, Britney has a valid Louisiana license. According to J. Michael Flannagan, Britney’s lawyer for the case:
That means, if Britney’s claim of being a Louisiana resident holds up in court the charges would be dismissed. Of course, except for while Jamie Lynn was pregnant, I can’t recall the last time Spears actually spent a substantial amount of time in Louisiana. Britney didn’t spend all that much time actually living in her California property during her time with Adnan Ghalib instead flitting in and out of hotels. Though since Poppa Jamie Spears has become conservator over Britney’s estate, the pop princess has been staying mostly in her Beverly hills home.
Richard Sylvan Selzer also known as Mr. Blackwell passed away Sunday of complications from an intestinal infection, he was 86. Richard is survived by his partner of sixty years, Robert Spencer. The fashionistas out there will remember Mr. Blackwell as the voice of good taste, who’s list of the ten worst dressed each year was a scathing staple of Hollywood critique from the 1960’s to last year. Ok, I didn’t think it was going to happen quite like this but I’m not surprised - Britney Spears’ latest single “Womanizer” has hit the charts and gone straight through the roof:
The song jumped nearly one hundred places in the course of one week, which is some serious upward mobility. Reviews for the single where lack luster, the video was remarkable only thanks to Brit’s rehabbed bod, but somehow I thought the fans would keep their pop princess afloat, I just never expected they’d shoot her straight into the stratosphere! Congrats are definitely in order for the recovering singer, especially when you consider that:
“What may be the most repetitive chorus heard in a pop song since the 1970 novelty hit “Gimmie Dat Ding.” And that was designed to be annoying. In each and every chorus of “Womanizer,” Spears delivers the title word no fewer than nine times in a row, in a nagging tone meant to mimic [sic] the most irritating of schoolyard taunts.” Ouch! But not entirely deadly for the pop princesses long awaited comeback, all it would take was one awesome video to make help the burn the song into the collective consciousness, with unforgettable images. People have certainly been buzzing about the video and Britney’s been working tirelessly to give the fans what they wanted – the lithe seductress they first fell in love with. Sources say that Spears:
“There is no sex tape and I’ve never claimed there is one… I don’t know where these quotes I’m supposed to have said have come from. What I do know is they certainly didn’t come from me and they are completely false. I’m extremely upset and distressed and I’m taking legal action… This story has caused a lot of hurt to my family and people close to me… There is no sex tape. That is the end of the matter.” I don’t know about you, but I’m almost thinking Adnan did reach a deal – with the Spears family. If the tapes has already been sold to Britney’s people or his silence was temporarily bought, Ghalib would have very good reason to make the rumors go away. But then the paparazzo called into Ryan Seacrest’s radio show October 2nd and denied everything again, plus:
It’s hard to fake that kind of sincerity, some top paid actors haven’t managed it yet. Though on the other, other hand, Adnan’s claims of not wanting to take attention away from Britney while she was in NYC comes off as a bit too short too late. Since Britney’s trip was almost over by the time Ghalib started talking, what ever damage the sex tape rumors were going to do, was already done.
First, she took in a performance of the Tony winning musical “In The Heights”. As she left the theater a crowd of hundreds of onlookers had gathered. With bodyguards in front I got some video of the pop star. This morning Britney and her team went to J.H.S 142 in the Bronx and made a donation to the school’s music department. As she left she signed autographs and posed with the kids. A few of the more than 20 police officers also took photos with her. Plus they gave her and her Private Security Team an escort to the highway. If Britney is able to hire her own team, why must our Police provide additional security. Surely they have better, more important things to do! This area of the Bronx is a high crime rate area, let the police, Police!!
“’Oh definitely, next year,’ she said, adding the tour would probably take her ‘around the world.’” Unfortunately the news was quickly, and completely, overshadowed by juicier gossip. Apparently the pop princess’ worst fears are about to be brought into reality, a tape is currently being shopped around by her former boy toy, Adnan Ghalib. It is said to feature Britney naked, except for the bright pink wig customary of her darkest moments, and was filmed during the brief trip the pop singer took to Mexico took with the paparazzo. In an interview with Heat magazine, Ghalib said: “”There is such a tape, but I won’t discuss prices for hypothetical inquiries. Unless there is a locked-in deal, I will go no further.” An unconfirmed source claims the two-hour X-rated footage features Britney naked wearing just a pink wig and was allegedly shot while on holiday in Mexico. Adnan added: “I am not interested in selling out any other details about Britney. “” Poor Britney, to finally be making not just baby steps but strides towards a full and total recovery and have this kind of thing to worry about! A sex tape could break some people, let alone those who’ve had as bad a year as the VMA winner. A source close to Spears told E! Online that “the story is completely false” but Spears reps at Jive records haven’t made any statements and:
The tape has been a persistent rumor ever since the paparazzo began hanging out with Britney during her downward spiral, so its existence seems like a sad probability. However, after Adnan’s last run in with some of Spears rabid fans, you’d think the man would be a little more cautious of dragging the pop princess’ name right back into the mud from which they (ok maybe only Britney) have only recently emerged.
“It is definitely, definitely a continuation of “Blackout” which, you know, is a grand thing! That album is totally good you guys. So this song is also definitely not the song she was shown rehearsing to at the VMAs. (Britney did not perform at the VMAs, because she did not need to. It was enough, the experts agreed, that she was just able to stand up and smile.) You know, what can we say? YES. Yes to Britney is yes to life. Yes to this tinny 40-second clip.”

It’s time for Britney Spears to make her triumphal return, not just to the public eye but all the way back into the spotlight! That’s right, everyone’s favorite pop princess has finally decided when and where she’s going to have her first performance, since her disastrous turn on MTV’s Video Music Awards in 2007:
Well it’s finally here, Britney Spears debuted the video for her new single “Womanizer” on October 10th’s edition of 20/20. I’ve got to say I was impressed with the video, though not in the way Spears might have hoped. “Womanizer,” was reviewed in September by Jim Farber who said it housed:
