I never tire of looking at Kristen Stewart. In the new issue of V Magazine, which features the On The Road actress in a 10-page photo spread,by Inez & Vinoodh and on its cover, writer Sarah Cristobal writes that there is “a slightly feral air” to Stewart’s presence, and that’s exactly what makes her so fascinating to watch on and off screen.
I wish On The Road had been a more cohesive movie, and a better showcase for Stewart’s talents post-Twilight Saga, but she clearly has no regrets. The actress tells V that the Walter Salles picture has been “a fucking amazing experience. I would have done anything, I would have played any part.” She adds that the character she did play, Marylou, who was based on Beat icon Neal Cassady’s onetime wife LuAnne Henderson, was “remarkable because she has a tough core. When you are a teenager a year can be crippling to maneuver through, you’re just out there questioning things and so to be completely ok with that and not think that there is anything wrong with you, that’s something I’ve recently understood,” says Stewart, who points out that she’s 22 where “Marylou started this whole thing when she was 15.”
As Stewart told Movieline, playing Marylou helped her to be “unabashedly” herself, and she elaborates on that theme a bit with V. During an interview with Mandy Patinkin on Fox5’s Good Day New York, one of the co-anchors Dave Price had to quit that bitch early, because he got word that his wife was thisclose to popping out a baby. Yes, anything is more interesting than talking to Rosanna Scotto, but Mandy Patinkin’s beard nearly blew off of his face from how excited he got over the arrival of Dave Price’s new baby. Mandy didn’t want to talk about his TV show or Facebook or anything else. Mandy just wanted to know everything about Dave Price’s baby and even wanted them to call him after that baby breathed its first breath. I’m surprised Mandy didn’t pull a bunch of blue and pink cigars out of his pocket and start handing them out. I bet Dave Price’s wife wasn’t as excited as Mandy was and the baby was coming out of her vagina.
If the whole “being on Homeland” thing doesn’t work out for Mandy, he should become a professional labor cheerleader, because nobody’s more excited about the birthing of babies than he is. While talking to Stylist (via ONTD) about her new fragrance, the conversation switched from make-up to Adele. CaCa started out by saying that women need to stop being cold bitches to each other:

Starring in a short film that’s paired with a blockbuster movie seems sort of like being a pinch-hitter who sat on the bench but got invited to take a victory lap with the starting team; the glory is automatic, but it would have been great to be able to play in the big game. But for Marvel movies, short films are more like audition tapes, and Item 47, which accompanies the September 25 Blu-ray release of The Avengers, introduces two characters – played by Lizzy Caplan and Jesse Bradford – who may soon find themselves joining in on the superhero action, if they prove as appealing to audiences as their ingenuity does to S.H.I.E.L.D.
In the short, directed by Marvel co-president Louis D’Esposito, Claire (Caplan) and Benny (Bradford) find a Chitauri weapon and use it to rob banks following the events of The Avengers. Following a fan screening of Item 47 at Comic-con Friday night, Movieline sat down with Caplan and Bradford for a fun conversation about their past, present and (hopefully) future experiences with superhero movies.
Had either of you gone out for superhero parts in the past? The industry keeps making those movies in greater numbers.
Caplan: Yes, they do.

Full Story »It only took about 20 years from conception to writing to development to shooting to the most notoriously protracted post-production saga in recent memory, but Kenneth Lonergan’s embattled epic Margaret finally had the festival premiere it deserved Saturday night in Manhattan.
In its own way, even that event was chronologically vexed. The special screening — part of the Film Society of Lincoln Center’s annual Film Comment Selects series — came a few months after distributor Fox Searchlight gave the tale of an Upper West Side teenager transformed by her role in a fatal bus accident the most cursory release possible: One week in Los Angeles and New York, then out of theaters entirely before a critical groundswell rallied on its behalf in the heart of awards season. The campaign yielded the occasional fruit — Best Actress consideration for leading lady Anna Paquin here, Best Supporting Actress consideration for Jeannie Berlin there — but more than anything, it spotlighted Margaret’s breathtaking range of fascinations and flaws, a spectrum stretched over the film’s contractually mandated 150-minute running time (pared down from a rumored maximum of four hours) and a six-year behind-the-scenes drama that was once said to involve as many lawyers as it had editors.
On Saturday, though, Lonergan — accompanied onstage afterward by lead editor Anne McCabe and every available cast member including Jean Reno, J. Smith-Cameron (pictured above with Lonergan) and Lonergan’s best friend (and eventual post-production patron) Mathew Broderick — had no intention of dwelling on Margaret’s tortured route to the screen. A gaggle of right-wing functionaries is furious with Clint Eastwood and Chrysler, with no less than Karl Rove calling out the actor-director-inspirational halftime huckster for a Super Bowl ad that Rove and others perceived as a thinly veiled reelection endorsement for President Obama. Wait, what?
The shit hit the fan Monday afternoon when Rove took to Fox News to protest the epic TV spot, arguing that… honestly, I have no idea. Big Hollywood’s John Nolte offered the most succinct explanation of conservative outrage — “Because Obama’s decided to eliminate moral hazard and socialize losses for anyone who employs the unions who fund his campaigns, Chrysler obviously wrote a thinly veiled thank you in the form of a reelection ad for their benefactor, and convinced a Republican icon to deliver it” — but things just got straight-up surreal with Rove (via EW):
