Real talk, y’all: The first domestic trailer for Juan Antonio Bayona’s disaster drama The Impossible made me a little misty-eyed. Get ready to get your hearts touched by Ewan McGregor and Naomi Watts as parents on vacay with their children who get separated by the devastating 2004 tsunami and attempt to find their way back to each other amid the destruction and chaos. Sniff.
The first Spanish language teaser and posters caught our eye with their startlingly frightening imagery, but Summit’s trailer takes a different route with effective results, focusing more on the human drama and bonds at the center of the film. The Impossible marks director Bayona’s English-language debut after impressing with 2007’s The Orphanage.

[Trailer debut in HD at Apple.]
Based on the true story of one family’s survival of the 2004 tsunami, THE IMPOSSIBLE stars Naomi Watts and Ewan McGregor and is directed by J.A. Bayona (THE ORPHANAGE).
Maria (Naomi Watts), Henry (Ewan McGregor) and their three sons begin their winter vacation in Thailand, looking forward to a few days in tropical paradise. But on the morning of December 26th, as the family relaxes around the pool after their Christmas festivities the night before, a terrifying roar rises up from the center of the earth. As Maria freezes in fear, a huge wall of black water races across the hotel grounds toward her.
THE IMPOSSIBLE is the powerful and unforgettable account of a family caught, with tens of thousands of strangers, in the mayhem of one of the worst natural catastrophes of our time. But the true-life terror is tempered by the unexpected displays of compassion, courage and simple kindness that Maria and her family encounter during the darkest hours of their

Throughout the ’70s and into the first part of the ’80s, it was hard to ignore singer/songwriter/actor/sometimes talk show host and best-friend of the Muppets Paul Williams. He won Grammys and even an Oscar for hits he wrote including “We’ve Only Just Begun,”, “Rainy Days on Mondays,” “Evergreen,” “Just an Old Fashioned Love Song” and “Rainbow Connection.” Barbra Streisand, The Carpenters and even Kermit the Frog are among the artists he wrote super-hits for. Below, Paul Williams gives us his top ten movie songs of all time and dishes insight on Stephen Kessler’s documentary about him, Paul Williams Still Alive, about his raging ascent and crashing fall and return to form…
Johnny Carson first brought the artist onto the Tonight Show as the swinging ’70s were just beginning. He did television, movies, concerts. If there was a group of “It-guys” in that crazy decade, Williams would surely have been a part of that cadre of people at the center of all that spectacle. But as the ’80s wore on and into the ’90s Paul Williams all but disappeared from the center of it all. Drugs and booze did him in for a while, though he came roaring back though via a less flashy route.
Enter fan and Oscar-nominated filmmaker Stephen Kessler. He had long been a fan of Williams as a teen growing up in Queens, NY and his songs which he described as about “depression, loneliness and alienation,” and set out to find Williams and make a documentary. Williams said ‘yes’ but he was hardly a willing participant, at least initially, as Williams told Movieline. “By the time I decided to go along, he had spent a lot of time and a lot of money. I didn’t want to flat out say no and didn’t know…

This just in: Lindsay Lohan was handcuffed in court this morning and escorted back to jail after a judge revoked the actress’s probation for failing to meet her community service requirements.
The judge accused Lohan of blowing off her sentence of 360 hours of community service at a women’s center in downtown Los Angeles. According to TMZ, the actress claimed that she did not find her work there “fulfilling.” After not showing up for nine scheduled appointments, the women’s center asked that she not return.
The county probation department in turn sent the actress to log community service hours with Red Cross. This morning, the judge determined that the department had no authority make that decision and Lohan’s hours with the Red Cross would not count towards her sentence.
Lohan’s attorney, Shawn Holley, defended the actress’s absence from the women’s center by claiming Lohan “had to earn a living to support herself and her family” and her opportunities are in Europe.
TMZ reports that the judge responded by saying, “She’s supposed to be an actress, from what I hear.”
Lohan’s bail was set at $100,000. The judge told the actress that she must complete 16 hours of community service at the county coroner’s office before her November 2 probation violation hearing to avoid further punishment.

A few weeks ago, Steven Soderbergh postponed his early retirement to take on a juicy project brought to him by Channing Tatum. Based on Tatum’s real-life experiences, the project — titled Magic Mike — would center on a friendship set in the world of male strippers. And just moments ago, in a casting coup for crotch tattoo-ed actors everywhere, Deadline announced that Alex Pettyfer has signed onto the project.
But the I Am Number Four star will not just be joining Magic Mike as any old crotch-inked stripper hustling onstage for giddy bridal parties; he will play a “young Tatum” while the real Tatum plays his older mentor. Reid Carolin (Earth Made of Glass) is currently writing the script, which Soderbergh has called “sexy, funny and shocking” — and in the same vein as Saturday Night Fever. Thoughts?

Justin Bieber isn’t old enough to operate a water gun (check the age recommendation on the box if you don’t believe me) and he’s as threatening as a Maisy Mouse stuffed animal, but that hasn’t stopped him from already choosing the gangsta way of life. You better get on your side of the playground or Shawty Mane is going to fuck you up when the recess warden isn’t looking! You don’t want to end up with a SpongeBob Squarepants Band-Aid over your knees after the Bieb finishes swinging. Or you can just bend down a little bit and put your palm on his forehead so his tiny fists won’t you hit. Yeah, do that.
CBC News brings us this hilarious report out of Richmond, B.C. about 16-year-old Justin Bieber and his posse getting kicked out of a laser tag center after he allegedly smacked a 12-year-old during a game. Toddler on toddler violence is never okay, but this is just HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. The owner of the laser tag center said they put The Lesbeaver and his bodyguards out on curb after the 12-year-old complained.
The Richmond police department’s fetus crime unit is investigating this mess, but Justin’s spokeswhore denies it went down like this. Shawty Mane is still at large so you better stay in your playpens until further notice.
We all know that Justin is the true reincarnation of Biggie Smalls, but he would never ever hit a 12-year-old. The real story is that Shawty Mane ordered his bodyguards to hold the 12-year-old down while he tickled the boy until the poor thing made a tinkle in his Underdoos. That’s how Shawty Mane does it!
