Calling the lobby before last night’s New York premiere of R. Kelly’s Trapped in the Closet an awkward scene wouldn’t do it justice: PR reps ran around, security locked down our electronics and scores of media folk shuffled about as all of our abilities to tell time went dark. But then something magical happened: Eric Lane walked in. He was followed by La Donna Tittle, and suddenly everyone stood around in awe of the two actors who are better known in this strange world as Twan and Rosie the Nosy Neighbor.
It speaks to the weird magic behind R. Kelly’s self-described “hip hopera” — but really, let’s just say it’s a soap opera that rhymes — and how a one-night stand can transform into a character study about a group of people dealing with relationships, crime and a blind ho named Francine.
And yet, the crowd that came out to see the latest installment in the Trapped franchise (airing on IFC Friday, November 23 at 9pm PT/ET) wasn’t there for spectacle. The audience assembled because of the assured promise that R. Kelly would continue to deliver revelations with his cult hit about adultery, midgets and how devastating a plot point that no one could find Chuck — once a throw-away character, now a series lynchpin — could be.
Even the show itself turned into a meta-on-top-of-meta moment as Reverend Mosley hawked a “Trapped in the Closet” book (“There’s the Bible…and there’s this”) as characters gave Real World confessionals on an unnamed talk show. But when R. Kelly came out for a post-screening Q&A with E!’s Alicia Crowley, any questions were moot as he soaked in the applause. On Monday, the New York Post reported that the ID (as in Investigation Discovery) cable channel will air a documentary titled My Brother the Serial Killer that presents evidence that the subject of the film, Glen Rogers, who may have killed as many as 70 to 80 people, is the “likely” killer of the two, not O.J. Simpson, as has been frequently speculated in the media.
According to the tabloid’s TV critic, Linda Stasi, Rogers’ family thought he was lying when he told them that he was “partying with a woman in L.A. named Nicole Brown Simpson shortly before she was murdered.
A few years after the murders and the white Bronco highway chase that ushered in a worldwide media circus, Rogers, who was on death row for other murders, admitted to a criminal profiler that he’d killed Simpson and Goldman.
Stasi writes that receipts that show Rogers had been working construction in the area at the time of the deaths and his knowledge of how the murders were conducted, appear to add to his credibility.
Rogers also apparently claims that O.J. didn’t bring any of this information to light when he he was on trial because the former actor and football star had paid the serial killer to break into Ncole’s house and steal a pair of $20,000 earrings he’d given to her. The Post also reports that Simpson allegedly told Rogers to “kill ‘the bitch’ if necessary.”
Shortly after Simpson and Goldman met grisly ends, Rogers went on a cross-country murder rampage.

Francis Lawrence, who is directing the second installment of The Hunger Games franchise, Catching Fire will come on board for the final two in the series, Mockingjay – Part 1 and Mockingjay – Part 2.
Lawrence is currently filming Catching Fire, which is due out in 2013. Collider broke the news of Lawrence’s commitment to the final two Hunger Games.
Gary Ross, who directed the first Hunger Games, starring Jennifer Lawrence, Wes Bentley, Stanley Tucci and Josh Hutcherson declined to direct the follow-ups saying he didn’t believe he could reasonably take on the tight schedule.
Lawrence noted last May after the announcement he’d direct Catching Fire: “It is truly an honor and a privilege to bring Catching Fire, the second chapter of Suzanne’s beloved trilogy, to the big screen. I fell in love with the characters, the themes and the world she created and this chapter opens all of these elements up in such a thrilling, emotional and surprising way. I can’t wait to dive right into it and bring this chapter to life along with the truly superb cast and filmmakers involved.”
Catching Fire will open November 22, 2013. Mockingjay – Part 1 is due out on November 21, 2014 and Mockingjay – Part 2 is set for November 20, 2015.

In the latest chapter of Lindsay Lohan’s ongoing legal struggle, the troubled actress has been sentenced to 30 days in jail. The catch? Her sentence could be extended to 300 days if she doesn’t follow court orders.
The latest court order stipulates that the upcoming Playboy model must complete the remainder of her probation — including community service at the L.A. County Morgue and psychotherapy sessions — by March 29. If the actress fails to meet those requirements, she will be sent to jail for 270 days.
TMZ reports that of the initial 30 day sentence, Lohan will serve six days in jail.

Any normal celebrity couple would answer to the rumors that their marriage has been drowned in a pool of crotch nectar from the husband’s side piece by issuing a simple statement that reads: “True” or “Not true” or “Your business: mind it.” But Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore aren’t even in the same universe as normal and have answered to the rumors by dropping philosophical balls of shit and clues on their Twitter pages. Dumi’s stupid ass wrote the first chapter of The Da Douche Code when she quoted Greek philosopher Epictetus days before Star Magazine said her marriage was lying on a table in the morgue.
