Bradley Cooper says it wasn’t a stretch to call Robert De Niro “Dad” in Silver Linings Playbook. The Hangover actor plays Pat Solitano, the bipolar son of De Niro’s extremely OCD Pat Solitano, Sr. in the film, and at the New York premiere party, Cooper told us that his prior working relationship with De Niro on Limitless, which blossomed into a friendship, made it easy to channel that familial bond with the Taxi Driver actor.
At a press conference for the movie earlier that day, Cooper, who lost his actual father in 2011, told the gathered media that he had trepidations about playing the role of a Philadelphia area man struggling with bipolar disorder. “He really did champion me” to get the part, Cooper said of De Niro, adding that he decided to take the role, in part, because, “I knew that I could say ‘Dad’ and look at him and it would come from a real place.”
During the party at the Royalton hotel in midtown Manhattan, I asked Cooper to elaborate upon that comment, and he replied that because of his work with De Niro on their last movie, ”We sort of became great friends,” adding: “I love him.” That relationship, he explained, became “a real bonus” when it came to the onscreen dynamic of the two actors in Silver Linings Playbook. With any movie role, Cooper explained, “You need certain anchors, and when I would say say the word ‘Dad’ to him, it just felt very deep and grounded.”

I can’t co-sign 99% of the hate dingles of dumb that pass through Rupert Everett’s chapped lips, but I appreciate his dedication to being a crusty, bitter old queen who sometimes pulls the stick lodged deep up in his ass to violently wave it at anything and everything.
Rupert has pissed hate on Gwyneth Paltrow (that’s 0.5% I co-signed), Jennifer Aniston’s career (that’s the other 0.5%), British soldiers and now he’s pissing hate on gay parents. Rupert told The Sunday Times (via Telegraph) that even though his mom has met his boyfriend and knows that he’s strictly dickly, she still wants him to marry a woman and have some kids. Rupert’s mom doesn’t think that as a gay dude he should have kids, because children need a father and a dad in their lives. Rupert knows that it’s been a while since he’s gotten some free attention for spewing out crazy shit, so he told The Sunday Times that he agrees with his mom:

Orange County, CA, probably the richest and best known of the lot (there are of course fellow O.C. namesakes in New York and Florida) has had its hare in the spotlight with the original Real Housewives, not to mention that teen/young-adult primetime soap The O.C. and who could forget MTV’s Laguna Beach. But watch, out, there’s a new Orange grabbing the spotlight, and it even grabbed O.C. star Adam Brody who plays the successful son of a couple living in a leafy neighborhood in West Orange, NJ. The Oranges promises to take a bite out of the upper middle-class intrigue market.
But Brody appears to be incidental in the block scandal taking place on – you might have guessed, Orange Drive. The quick plot goes something like this: Two dads are morning jog-BFFs who live across the street from each other. One daughter comes come for a holiday after breaking up with her boyfriend. Instead of going for the neighbor’s good looking age-appropriate son (that would be Brody) she takes a liking for the dad – a big uh-oh! And even a bigger problem, the neighbor’s dad goes for it…

As if Jermaine, Janet, Randy and Rebbie aren’t injecting enough craziness into this insane saga, Prince Michael Jackson Jr. has popped up and is joining in on the dysfunctional family fun.
As Blanket Jackson sat on his satin bedspread, brushing his luscious mane while rolling his eyes at all of this stupid foolishness, Prince posted this group text on Twitter and a long statement directed at Randy Jackson’s lies. Randy Jackson said that he and the others didn’t gran-nap Katherine Jackson and weren’t purposefully keeping Michael Jackson’s kids from talking to her. Prince posted this text proving otherwise.
