Jennifer Lawrence (or “JLaw” as a friend calls her, indicating we really are that lazy as a species) had always impressed me as a sensible girl and a fairly talented actress. She was hot as the redneck meth-family girl getting her ass beat by mountain hags in Winter’s Bone. And she wisely didn’t try to upstage Effie Trinket or Woody Harrleson’s demure yet devastating wig in Hunger Games. But then she went and told Marie Claire South Africa (via Radar) that she’s a big fan of Keeping Up With The Kardashians and Dance Moms. That’s unfortunate.
Ms. Lawrence serves up that typical Hollywood starlet interview where she claims to be a stay-at-home mom and not one of those Lohan types who’s always doing the reverse cowgirl on a bottle of Svedka. She loves to be home on a her couch, watching horrific TV guaranteed to drive any thinking person to put a gun in their mouth. Basically she likes all the shows I do except for Kunty Kim & Fam. Full Story »The Korean pop sensation that’s taken over the world has found its way to the set of Wolverine, where the tuxedoed Psy stopped by to teach star Hugh Jackman — wearing Wolverine’s adamantium claws — how to dance Gangnam Style. And I thought the Filipino prison dancers marked the jumping of the shark!
Putting years of Broadway dance training to use, the enthusiastic Jackman seems to have picked up Psy’s signature pony move pretty quickly, which is impressive if you’ve watched every celebrity this side of Ellen Degeneres attempt the dance craze of the year.
They even gave Psy his own Wolverine claws. Okay, that’s pretty cool.
It’s even better if you imagine this as the character Wolverine meeting Psy and indulging in a lighthearted moment of cross-cultural glee before an epic battle to the death. Because Psy is clearly some sort of mutant being whose power is the ability to entrance strangers with his syncopated gyrations and that damnedly irresistible ditty.

“We’re trying to do our part to objectify men for the first time in movies.” Steven Soderbergh’s male stripper pic Magic Mike shimmies into theaters today powered by a charismatic turn by Channing Tatum and a hard-bodied supporting cast — but the tale isn’t all thongs, pelvic thrusts, and bachelorette party thrills. 1. Magic Mike is based on observations from Tatum’s eight-month stint as a male stripper. How did he get into it — and why did he ever stop?

Vulture had a front row seat at Cannes: “At the request of [Moonrise Kingdom co-star Jared] Gilman, who just had his bar mitzvah and has a taste for dub-step, Bill Murray led the troop onto the dance floor, where the four kids and their accompanying man-child wiggled and jumped around with abandon. It was a scene of such next-level adorability that nearly everyone in the immediate vicinity pulled out a camera phone. ‘We’re just chilling! The cast of Marvel’s The Avengers were a spirited bunch Thursday in Beverly Hills, where the familial vibe amongst the likes of Robert Downey Jr., Samuel Jackson, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, and Mark Ruffalo was evident and mutual admiration, inside jokes, and startling revelations abounded. Watching the Bill Bixby Incredible Hulk TV show with his 10-year-old son on Joss Whedon’s recommendation, Ruffalo found his way into the character. “After the third episode he turned to me and said, ‘Papa, he’s so misunderstood!’ I basically based my character entirely on my 10-year-old boy, who has all of the force of nature screaming out of his body while at the same time having everyone around him telling him to fucking control himself.”
