Just when you thought that Hollywood had run out of hit movies to adapt into Broadway musicals, word is spreading that Mike Myers is in discussions to translate his ’60s spy spoof series for the stage. But just how involved will the franchise creator and star be in Austin Powers: The Musical — especially when he is reportedly busy writing a fourth film installment for the British secret agent?
A source close to the actor confirmed the news to the New York Post: “Mike is in talks to turn Austin Powers into a musical stage show. Mike would be heavily involved in writing the show, but he will not star in it, even though he has quite a good singing voice.”
So yes, as clarified, the actor (with quite a good singing voice) — last seen in Inglourious Basterds and last heard in Shrek Forever After — will not be starring in the musical Austin Powers. After all, that would be a wildly taxing feat considering Myers played four different roles in the franchise (Austin Powers, Doctor Evil, Fat Bastard and Goldmember). Myers is also reportedly busy penning a fourth Austin Powers movie that is anticipated to arrive in theaters in 2013 or 2014. The last film, Austin Powers in Goldmember, was released in 2002.
Is this a movie-to-musical adaptation that you will get behind? Or is your mojo rising more for Rocky’s German stage premiere?

The real-life case of Dr. Evil’s Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery henchman Random Task continues to get more and more disturbing in ways that even the most twisted Bond villains couldn’t match. Mixed martial artist-turned-actor Joseph Son, currently serving a life sentence for a 1990 gang rape, is now suspected of killing his cellmate in California’s Wasco State Prison. An autopsy and investigation is underway. [THR]

It has been ten years since Mike Myers last brought his swingin’ ‘tude and awful dentistry to international man of mystery Austin Powers, and perhaps for good reason — by the time Myers rolled around the 1970s with Beyonce’s Foxxy Cleopatra in 2002’s Austin Powers in Goldmember, the series had lost some of its driving mojo. Now, after taking a decade to recharge, the franchise is said to be headed back to the spotlight with a new sequel, according to a report by HitFix’s Drew McWeeny.
While a fourth Austin Powers film had been long-discussed, it seemed star Myers wasn’t quite ready to reprise the character. Director Jay Roach previously told Movieline he was waiting for the day Myers was a go — and the time may be now for a new sequel to move forward.
Confirming that Myers “just closed his deal to return to the role,” Hitfix reports that Austin Powers 4 is officially on. No further details are available regarding a director or plot, but Roach recently filmed Game Change for HBO and was set to begin filming the political comedy Southern Rivals, with Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis, this fall.
So… are we ready for “Yeah, baby!” to re-enter the pop cultural lexicon?

Lindsay Lohan Thinks She Should've Been In Black Swan
The pieces I’ve read from Plum Miami Magazine’s article on Lindsay < span=”">Lohan<> is what it would look like if delusion and ego simultaneously barfed on a sheet of crazy. A MESS! LiLo swung from the L of delusion the entire time. This mess has everything you could ever want from a Lindsay Lohan article and the bitch didn’t even give an interview.
Just like what White Oprah should’ve done those many years ago, she pulled out. So writer Jacquelynn Powers had to make do with what LiLo gave her on the set of the photo shoot and it was just freckled gold covered in fuckery. LiLo started spewing the self-entitlement from the very beginning….
“As we pulled up to the Fontainebleau, a bright-orange parking cone was blocking the entrance. Not accustomed to waiting, apparently, she lowered the car’s window and shouted, ‘Move that cone. I’m Lindsay Lohan,’” Powers recalls. “And it was done.”
You know the orange cone thought to itself, “Move that cunt. I’m actually useful.”
But seriously, “Move that cone. I’m Lindsay Lohan.” is the kind of beautiful poetry that made White Oprah put down her bowl of chardonnay and wipe a tear that mixed with the crusted remains of a kamikaze shot that splattered against her face when a bar back tried to do a shot off her neck the night before
