Social Network Team to Produce Fifty Shades of Grey
The duo behind the Oscar-nominated The Social Network, Michael De Luca and Dana Brunetti, will collaborate to produce the racy nobel by E.L. James, which Universal and Focus picked up in a bidding war in March. The Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy centers on a torrid love affair between a college student and a mysterious billionaire, THR reports.

Ephron, who died June 26th of complications from leukemia, ple-planned her memorial service, which took place Monday at Lincoln Center in Manhattan’s Upper West Side. Tributes came from Tom Hanks, Meryl Streep and Martin Short and the guest list included Sen. Al Franken, Barbara Walters, Diane Sawyer, Martin Scorcese, Steve Kroft, Alan Alda, Vanity Fair editor Graydon Carter, Rob Reiner, Jon Hamm, Jennifer Westfeldt and frequent collaborator Scott Rudin, THR reports.

The Situation’s rep (“I hate my life.” – The Situation’s rep) pulled all of our dicks yesterday when he said that the charbroiled Don Knotts is currently in an “undisclosed location” to take a much-needed rest from his grueling schedule of screwing last call skanks, getting drunk in a sea of douches and doing non-stop stomach crunches to keep his rock hard 4-pack rock hard (it kind of looks like he has butt abs). The Situation’s rep wanted to make it clear that he doesn’t have a substance abuse problem, but that was a whole lot of lies in your eyes, because TMZ says that he’s at Cirque Lodge in Utah to curb his addiction to prescription pills. The Sitch himself went on his Gawker knock-off blog to pretty much confirm that he’s addicted to swallowing little white things:

Your 2012 Christmas week movie schedule just got a little more crowded. Paramount has set Dec. 21, 2012 as the release date for Marc Forster’s adaptation of the zombie infestation novel World War Z. That means star and producer Brad Pitt will be battling Lone Ranger, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, Life of Pi and Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained at the December box office. Some bad news for Clint Eastwood fans hoping to see J. Edgar on the premiere schedule at the Toronto International Film Festival or New York Film Festival: the Leonardo DiCaprio-led Oscar contender won’t debut at either prestigious gathering. As first reported by the Toronto Star — and confirmed by EW — J. Edgar will bypass both festivals and likely premiere in limited release on Nov. 9. (A full expansion follows on Nov. 11.) Though the full schedule for the Venice Film Festival comes out Thursday, we already know what will close the gondolier-friendly celebration: Whit Stillman’s Damsels in Distress, which concerns “young women at an East Coast university, the transfer student that joins their group and the young men they become entangled with.” The comedy — which stars Movieline heroine Greta Gerwig and Adam Brody — premieres Sept. 10, after the awards ceremony. George Clooney’s The Ides of March opens the fest on Aug. 31. [Deadline]
Mila Kunis said the word I long to hear when I propose marriage to my Anderson Cooper paper doll after Sgt. Scott Moore got on YouTube to ask her to be his date to the Marine Corp Ball in North Carolina in November. But then Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush, the Howdy Doody wooden puppet that was brought to life by the blue fairy, said that it wasn’t going to happen because Mila’s schedule won’t allow it. During a press conference for No Friends with Attached Benefits (or whatever the hell that shit is called), Mila said Billy is lying and that she will go to the ball with Sgt. Scott in November.
Mila’s co-star Justin Timberlake also verbally RSVP’d to the invitation from Corporal Kelsey De Santis to go to the Marine Corp Ball with her in DC. Corporal Kelsey took a page out of Sgt. Scott’s book by asking Justin to her ball in November. Justin awkwardly said he’d go if his schedule allows it.
So basically, two of the stars of Friends with Benefits are going to a Marine Corp Ball in November, which is probably around the same time that shit comes out on DVD. An unplanned publicity stunt that Uncle Sam can and will salute to. Don’t bother any of the producers of Friends with Benefits this weekend, because they’ll be too busy jacking it over this.

TMZ reports that the Make-A-Wish Foundation asked the Barefoot Contessa if she would grant the wish of a 6-year-old cancer patient by cooking him a meal. Ina waved her hand, blurted out “TOO BUSY!!!” and continued to pour vodka lemonade cocktails for her gay husbands at her Hamptons mansion. 6-year-old Enzo, who was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia three years ago, asked Make-A-Wish if they would help him meet Ina Garten. Enzo regularly watches her show on the Food Network with his mother.
When Ina’s people told the foundation that she was too busy with her book tour to visit with Enzo, he said that he’d wait until her schedule cleared up. This was last year. M-A-W approached Ina again this year, but she once again said no before cackling into her cauldron full of the broken dreams of sick children. “You a cold ass bitch” – Freddy Krueger
