The Occupy Wall Street protest movement may be loosely organized, but protesters in New York and in other cities around the country are firmly united in opposition to one faceless entity: Corporations. So how would the denizens of Zuccotti Park feel about a $250 million Hollywood studio film about a billionaire playboy hero coming to town to potentially use their protests as a backdrop?

According to an unnamed L.A. Times tipster, Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight Rises production may be filming scenes at the Occupy Wall Street protests. No official word has come in confirming that this is Nolan’s plan, but the sequel shoot is heading to NYC to film at the end of October.

Under its code name “Magnus Rex,” the Warner Bros./Legendary Pictures production will arrive in the nation’s biggest city for 14 days starting Oct. 29, according to a casting notice recently issued by producers. And, according to a person briefed on actors’ schedules who requested anonymity because production details were being kept confidential, cast members have been told the shoot could include scenes shot at the Occupy Wall Street protests.

Now, if this is true, it could fit the atmosphere of urban unrest already glimpsed in the countless Dark Knight Rises set photos and videos spy-cammed from the set of the July 2012 release. But would the folks of Occupy Wall Street let it fly? Is this potentially good publicity for the movement that, for a good while, seemed underreported on or misunderstood in the mainstream media?

And what could Batman have to do with it, anyway?
