The long-running soap opera All My Children will come to an end this September after more than four decades on the air, during which time it played host to many a hungry young actor-turned-successful movie star. Might Joss Whedon’s Buffy the Vampire Slayer have found its iconic heroine if she hadn’t started out as the girl you loved to hate on AMC? Would this summer’s Fast Five or Transformers: Dark of the Moon be the same without the key players who got their start in Pine Valley? And would a certain recent Oscar winner have learned how to be a fighter, so to speak, if not for her legendary on-screen All My Children catfight 25 years ago?
