Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are not only co-hosts of the 70th Golden Globes this year, they’re also competitors. Both were nominated for Best Actress in a Television Musical or Comedy, with Fey duking it out with her counterpart for 30 Rock, while Poehler is up for the award for Park and Recreation.

But while the co-hosts won’t conceivably know the results until the envelope opens at the ceremony on January 13th, the pair are busy working together in the lead-up to the big event, and no doubt re-calling those good ol’ Saturday Night Live days.
In this promo for the Globes, the duo are dressed in matching golden sparkly dresses and they both dish out cheesy Brit(ish) accents (until they don’t). Maybe they’re commenting on the resurgence of British-speak in Hollywood films reminiscent of the very early “golden days” of Hollywood? Who knows, but here’s a funny look at what may bode well for the Globes telecast after the New Year.

The Kid From Two And A Half Men Wants You To Stop Watching The Show That Makes Him $350,000 An Episode
Regularly inhaling Charlie Sheen’s coke and call girl snatch breath would make almost any kid run straight to Jesus and that’s exactly what 19-year-old Angus T. Jones has done and then some. For the past ten seasons, Angus has played the half man in Two and a Half Men and it’s made him the highest paid child actor in television. But every time Angus gets a $350,00 check from CBS, he happily cashes in it and then washes his hands in holy water, because that money is dark-sided and has the blood of Satan all over it.
Back in October, Angus shot some kind of testimonial for the Forerunner Christian Church and at the 7:30 mark he tells Christians not to watch the television show that made him a child millionaire. I don’t watch Two a Half Men, because it’s a total shit show. But Angus thinks you shouldn’t watch his show, because it’s filled with filth and is probably on Lucifer’s Tivo To Do List. Dumbass didn’t bite the hand that feeds. He gnawed that shit off by saying this:
“Jake from Two and a Half Men means nothing. He is a non-existent character. If you watch Two and a Half Men, please stop watching Two and a Half Men. I’m on Two and a Half Men and I don’t want to be on it. Please stop watching it and filling your head with filth.

Though that could change: “I’ve seen bits and pieces of them. Honestly, I’m not just saying this … I really kind of want to see the Chris Nolan one, because he’s so crazy talented, so I’ll keep saying, ‘I gotta go see that, I gotta go see that,’ and then like everything I still want to see, fuck, I just forget. There must be a hundred movies out there. I’ll say, ‘I gotta go see that.’ And then I never get around to seeing them. Or maybe I’ll see it later on television. I’m really bad at that. But I will tell you this: Every time I see clips of his movies, they look awesome. This trailer that’s out now? Fuck, it looks unbelievable.” [Grantland]

The Magic Mike director gave insight into his future endeavors once his hard stop to movie making begins in six months. He told Reuters that a book and even television work may occupy his interests, following in the footsteps of a number of filmmakers who are crossing over to the small screen in the past several years.
“I’ve been planning this for five years … I gave myself an out date and I’m right on schedule. I turn into a pumpkin in January,” Steven Soderbergh told Reuters. He also noted that he’s over making what he dubbed as “important movies,” adding that Che satisfied that desire. Following his latest, Soderbergh will finish off the thriller The Bitter Pill starring Channing Tatum, who also stars in Magic as well as Rooney Mara. And he also has the Liberace biopic Behind the Candelabra with Michael Douglas and Matt Damon shooting this summer.
Candelabra may be a window, in fact, into the Oscar winning director’s future since it’s an HBO production. “After I take my self-imposed sabbatical, if I’m going to come back and do something, I think it’s more likely that it would be on television than it would be a movie,” he said.”
What do you think of Soderbergh’s move to TV?

Oh, live television. You can’t hit rewind! Kathie Lee Gifford’s legendary on-air gaffe yesterday, in which she asked Today Show guest Martin Short how he keeps his marriage alive — unaware that Short’s wife Nancy passed away in 2010 after battling cancer, I mean seriously — blew up Wednesday as America caught wind of the cringe-worthy moment and Kathie Lee’s shame went viral. At least she had the good sense to apologize for making the most horrifying live-interview faux pas in recent memory.
“I send my sincerest apologies to @MartinShort and his family,” Griffin tweeted. “He handled situation w/enormous grace and kindness and I’m so grateful.”
Never mind the minor fact that @MartinShort is not the actor’s Twitter, either. But hey, it’s the sentiment that counts, right?
Poor Short, there to promote Madagascar 3; he just wanted to chop it up about some animated animals. And then, the look of masked horror on his face as he plays along, politely… *shudder*
