December 14th is the day when Peter Jackson will unleash the first of his Hobbit films, but that doesn’t mean it’s practically in the can. Jackson is bunkering down in the Park Road Post Production facility in Wellington, New Zealand to finish up the first in the trilogy, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.
“It’s due to be completed literally two days before the premiere. Hopefully,” Jackson comments in the film’s latest production video (below). “You’re going to see a lot of sleep-deprived people in this blog — everybody’s working around the clock to get the film finished.”
The behind the scenes look shows Jabez Olssen and Jackson editing the film, final construction of hundreds of CGI shots and working on sound effects for the feature which stars Martin Freeman, Ian McKellen, Richard Armitage, Cate Blachett and Elijah Wood.
“We’ve got another three weeks…and then another couple films,” Jackson said. “The journey’s long from over, it’s just really starting.”
Meanwhile, a new clip from the film also rolled out. The scene shows Gandalf (Ian McKellen) giving a magical sword to Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman). It’s rather quick and Gandalf seems to forewarn of its pending need.

So KStew talked to MTV News (via The New York Times of the UK) about working with On the Road’s director Walter Salles, and if Walter has a wife, his wife now knows what he’s really been doing when he tells her he’s taking a long walk on Pacific View Trail. Because KStew said this about working with Walter:
“You can do no wrong with [director Walter Salles]. He puts so much inside of you. In the four-week rehearsal process, it was okay to ask any question, to bring up any story, to really over-analyze everything and intellectualize everything. Once we got on set, it was so about just breathing and letting it happen. He put so much trust in us, so it was like, ‘Okay, so I have to take my clothes off?’ It’s so not a big [deal].”
Oh, I bet he put so much inside of you. But seriously, doesn’t Kristen Stewart know that you only have to bone the director while he’s casting the role you want. You don’t need to do it after you’ve already gotten the role! I swear.
No one should be surprised anymore at these announcements, but: DreamWorks and Working Title Films are remaking Alfred Hitchcock’s Oscar-winning noir Rebecca, because nothing is sacred. At least they’ve got people at the wheel with respectable creds; veteran producers Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner are onboard while Eastern Promises screenwriter Steven Knight is scripting based on Daphne du Maurier’s original 1938 novel, which saw a few deviations when Hitch made his version (which, incidentally, went on to be the only Best Picture Oscar-winner of his career).
The 1940 film, produced by David O. Selznick, starred Joan Fontaine and Laurence Olivier in the tale of a woman who finds her new husband and his servants still obsessed with his dead wife, whose memory haunts their home. It went on to garner 11 Oscar nominations.
A lofty bar, to be sure, but “Rebecca from the makers of Eastern Promises and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (not to mention just about every Coen brothers movie)” already sounds way more promising than “To Catch a Thief by the guys who made xXx,” no?

The monster family built by Ray J’s crooked dick and Ryan Seacrest’s highlights are on the cover of Redbook Magazine and in it Pimp Mama Kris Kardashian says that they are always ALWAYS always working. For you and me, there’s 24 hours in one day, but the day has created an extra hour just for the Kardashians. Or maybe Kim slows down the spinning earth by sitting on the ground. Whatever the case may be, Kris is sick of people saying they don’t have jobs, because the fact is they work 25 hours a day! Kris puts it like this (via UsWeekly):
